Gore Park Fountain

Hamilton's most popular vintage postcard topics are Gore Park, Dundurn Castle and the Hamilton & Barton Incline Railway.  Every postcard publisher has their own variation or composite of the same postcard view which is highlighted on this webpage.  Sometimes the difference is subtle for example, a slightly tighter crop or foliage on a tree but it can also be dramatic with the addition or omission of people and objects.

The postcard on the right has a slightly tighter crop that eliminated the gentleman sitting on the bench in the lower left hand corner.  The postcard on the right does not include the children standing at the fountain.
